On May 21st, Dad turned 70. Yes, 70 as in he was born in 1939. So how do you surprise a clever old man like my father you ask? Throw him a surprise birthday party a week after his birthday - works every time. He already had his pies and opened some gifts so he had no idea that this wasn't 'Dinner at Arni's'....muah hahaahha.
So I spent a lot of time trying to find a humorous 70th birthday card, only to discover that funny stops at 50. Apparently if you are over 50, your heart can't take that much laughing. I also noticed that the older you are the bigger the font- seriously, check out a 100th birthday card next time; it's huge. It was hard to pick out a sappy card for my father, since my trademark is the witty/funny cards but I think I can handle it once every ten years.

70 candles could be considered a fire hazard, so they had to stay on the bag.

He kept digging in the bag and even pulled out the bottom support... hint, there's nothing in the bag that will trump the I-Pod.

Do you think he likes it? He almost blinded me with that smile :)
